Now that we’re a little ways into the Summer 2021 anime season, it’s time to take a very close look at the beautiful men who make the anime world just a little bit brighter every day. As the Spring 2021 season starts to wind down, it’s important to take stock of what we’ve gained over these past few months of anime. Bishounen-centric fanservice anime have been around for almost as long as their T&A-fueled counterparts, and even the “magical boy” angle has been done several times before. So what is a new anime in this esteemed genre to do if it wants to stand out amongst its sparkly brethren? Well, Fairy Ranmaru: Anata no Kororo Otasuke Shimasu’s solution is to crank every dial it has up to 11 so it can be the loudest, sexiest, and most absurd pretty boy anime ever made. We’re big fans of the term “himbo” – derived from “bimbo”, it describes a male character who’s attractive (muscular, bishounen, or otherwise), but not exactly the sharpest katana at the anime convention. Even though these airheaded heroes are often capable of saving the day when it counts, their usual demeanor is closer to Metro Man than Megamind, if you catch our drift. Still, we just can’t help but love them. Here are the five best anime himbos!
Jujutsu Kaisen, the horror-flavored battle shounen that just ended its first season a few weeks ago, has some mighty fine waifus and husbandos in its cast. We’ve got stylish sorcerers who exorcise curses with unique techniques, as well as some humanoid curses who give the heroes a run for their money. And since MAPPA’s animation is so gorgeous, we get to see them in the best quality an anime fan could ask for. Here are the five characters from Jujutsu Kaisen we’re simping hard for!
