Winter 2021’s Horimiya has quickly become our new favorite romance anime, due in no small part to its male lead Izumi Miyamura. He seems like an unassuming nerd to his classmates, but in truth, his long hair and winter uniform hide a massive array of piercings and tattoos! This closet punk falls in love with another student who hides her private life: Kyouko Hori, a gorgeous popular girl who is at her happiest while acting as a stay-at-home-mom for her precious little brother.
It’s been just about a year since the pandemic forced large events like anime conventions to shut down indefinitely, and by now we’re feeling that con-fever more than ever. So while we wait for the world to go back to normal, we have to wonder – when conventions do eventually come back, what will be the hot new cosplays to spot? The Winter 2021 anime season is packed to the gills with fantastic programming: Attack on Titan Final Season, Wonder Egg Priority, SK8 the Infinity, Beastars Season 2... but one anime in particular, seems jarringly out of place among these juggernauts. Ex-Arm, a mostly CGI show based on writer HiRock and artist Shinya Komi’s 2015 manga of the same name, is so unabashedly terrible that it’s already plummeted to one of the lowest spots on MyAnimeList - yes, even below Summer 2020’s infamous Gibiate.
